Hinsley Hall Residential Weekends
Part of your Formation Studies requires attending a series of seven overnight residential courses at Hinsley Hall in Leeds.
The Hinsley meets are spread throughout the year, with two or three of the four Year groups in attendance at any one time. Your calendar schedule for these events will be made clear to you when you begin your studies.

LITURGICAL TASKS
For the Lectio Divina, Evening Prayer and morning Mass, the Year 2 and Year 3 students are invited to guide, lead and prepare various liturgical duties as part of their diaconal training. These tasks include:
The rota for these duties will be compiled in advance, so you will always have at least a month's notice, and preparation time, where needed. Names are rotated at each Hinsley weekend, to give every student the chance to perform these tasks in an objective environment. If you have any queries about any of the allocated tasks, please contact the NDFP's liturgical coordinator - see the Contacts list in your Student Handbook. |
GENERAL
Your overnight stay at Hinsley Hall includes a private room with an en-suite, as well as Friday evening's dinner, and Saturday's breakfast and lunch. Any dietary or access requirements can be taken into account.

ATTENDANCE
Our general rule is to assume that all students will attend the teaching weekends and we will book your rooms and meals accordingly. However, while these teaching sessions form a large part of your Formation studies, we understand that you have families and lives, and that plans can change.
If you are unable to attend all or part of a Hinsley meet, please let the NDFP admin team know as soon as possible, by emailing ndfp.admin@durham.ac.uk. We will send out any notes, presentations or recordings to you after the teaching weekend, so that you can catch up on what you have missed.
